Micro needling

It is our usual recommendation for acne scars, enlarged pores and fine lines, once active acne is under control.

How it works

• Fine needles create tiny, controlled channels in the skin.
• The skin's repair response produces new collagen and elastin over the following weeks.
• Texture, shallow scars and fine lines soften gradually across a course.
• Serums may be applied to support the skin during treatment.

Who it suits — and who it does not

• Acne scars and uneven texture.
• Fine lines and enlarged-looking pores.
• It is not suitable over active acne or infection, with a tendency to keloid scars, during pregnancy, with bleeding disorders, or within months of oral isotretinoin.
• Deep scars may need several sessions or a combined plan; staff will be honest about what to expect.

What happens in a session

1. The skin is cleansed and a numbing cream may be applied.
2. The microneedling device is passed over the area.
3. Soothing serum and a calming mask are applied.
4. Sunscreen is applied before you leave.

Aftercare

• Expect redness like mild sunburn for one to three days.
• Avoid makeup for 24 hours and use gentle products only.
• Use sunscreen daily and avoid direct sun.
• Skip retinol, acids and scrubs for about a week.
