Tattoo Removal Laser

It suits anyone who wants to fade or remove an unwanted tattoo, or lighten one before a cover-up.

How it works

• Laser energy targets the ink particles in the skin.
• The ink is broken into smaller fragments.
• The body's natural processes clear those fragments over the following weeks.
• Sessions are spaced 6–8 weeks apart to let the skin heal and the ink clear.

Who it suits — and who it does not

• Professional and amateur tattoos.
• Lightening a tattoo before a cover-up.
• Dark inks usually respond best; some colours fade more slowly.
• It is not suitable on sunburnt or tanned skin, over active infection, or during pregnancy. Staff will assess your skin and the ink first.

What happens in a session

1. The tattoo is assessed and photographed with your consent.
2. You wear eye protection during treatment.
3. The laser is passed over the tattoo; it feels like quick snaps.
4. The area is cooled and dressed.

Aftercare

• Keep the area clean and dry, and follow the dressing advice.
• Do not pick at blisters or crusts.
• Avoid sun on the area and use sunscreen once healed.
• Contact your branch if you see signs of infection.
