Pico Laser Brightening

It is our option for clients who want to brighten dullness and even out tone with minimal discomfort and downtime.

How it works

• Picosecond pulses act on pigment mainly through a rapid pressure effect rather than prolonged heat.
• The fragmented pigment is then cleared gradually by the body's natural processes.
• Less heat means a lower risk of irritation for many skin types, when settings are chosen carefully.
• Results build over a course, so several sessions are usually recommended.

Who it suits — and who it does not

• Dull or uneven skin tone, and dark areas such as underarms.
• Clients who want a gentler, low-downtime pigment treatment.
• Melasma is treated conservatively because it can flare; our staff assess this first.
• It is not suitable during pregnancy, on sunburnt or freshly tanned skin, or while taking medicines that increase light sensitivity. Tell staff about any medication.

What happens in a session

1. The area is cleansed and you wear eye protection.
2. The laser is passed over the area; most clients feel quick snaps.
3. A cooling or soothing product is applied.
4. Sunscreen is applied before you leave.

Aftercare

• Sunscreen every day is essential; sun exposure undoes pigment work.
• Skip scrubs, strong acids and retinol for a few days.
• Do not pick at any tiny darkened spots; let them flake naturally.
• Keep the skin moisturised.
